Beginning (Poetry)
Beginning
By Asche Keegan
Nothing matches a foggy sky
Quite like an empty canvas or
An opening page unwritten.
Like an unscarred heart first smitten
Through the passion that makes them soar—
They will dream, my dear—they will fly.
There, the glow of a faint sunrise
Dipped in the interstellar paints
Of the universe at first glow.
A beginning like none will know,
A shining story none will taint
Seen in unburdened sunlit skies.
But nothing matches foggy skies
When it comes to unequaled starts.
Unvanquished stories yet untold
Live on when writ in white and gold
When we finish—we’ll see all parts.
So fly before the story dies.

ReplyDeleteThis has got to be the best poem you have ever written.
And not only that! It is so packed with ideas - not a word wasted - and the meter, while perfect, is also such an ease to read. I love it. Good grief, this poem is amazing. *applauds*
Thanks! I'm glad you like it, but it still can't come close to any of yours! :D
DeleteHuh. I’m fascinated by your poems— they feel so beautifully succinct and thought out. I’ve written more than a few poems on the topic, but you give such a different and refreshing take on it. :)
